Raised in the south-eastern valleys of rural Australia Clare’s passion for writing and the art of elegant living blossomed from a young age. When asked what inspired her to start this blog she shares… “I guess it’s difficult for me to pin-point ‘that moment’ but I do believe that my interest was inspired and encouraged by my Mother – was the first individual to introduce me to the essence of graceful womanhood…”
With the very first article being penned on the 7 January, 2007 Grace & Poise has grown and flourished over time. Now with over 111, 700 views to date and attracting visitors from all over the world including the US, Africa, London, the Netherlands, Ireland, China and Chile just to name a few – the stats have exceeded the author’s highest expectations! “It is incredibly humbling to read the emails and comments that pour in… especially in the times when my inspiration for writing is at a low – it’s always such an encouragement!”
Clare currently works full-time in regional Australia at a law firm as the receptionist and studies accounting part-time. Clare enjoys many leisurely activities including hitting the gym, hiking, water sports or simply “anything fun and adventurous!” She also loves reading, catching up with friends and most of all spending time with her family. Clare has also traveled extensively throughout Europe and Australia and traveling continues to be one of her great passions.
Clare is also a dedicated Christian and attends church regularly. In her own words Clare shares her love for the Lord. “Religion for me is not a form or a chore – it’s a delight and an honor to praise the Lord for how he has blessed me so abundantly in the past and thank him for his continued goodness…”
Nowadays articles appearing on her blog are slightly sporadic due to the busyness of life but Clare’s desire to continue writing and researching the topic of grace and elegance in everyday life is still burning.

I am so glad that I found your page! I enjoy being a gracious woman in my early 30’s and treasure femininity.
It shocks me of how some women behave! They are wearing designer handbags and pretending to be a lady and in the next moment pushing you out of the way to get a seat on the train.
I would wish that more and more women would start to appreciate again the gift we have and remember how beautiful it is to be a woman!
